Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AreteFortis (aretefortis.com) is operated by Velocity Corporation Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

2. What we collect

Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password itself).

Membership and billing: your membership status, start date and billing history. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.

Your activity in the member area: which content you have opened, items and sayings you have saved to Remembered, your settings and email preferences, and records of the emails we have sent you.

Support conversations: if you use the support chat on our site, your messages are processed so the assistant can answer you.

Invitation details: if a member invites someone by email, we store that person's email address, first name (if given) and the member's note, to send the invitation and prevent repeat emails. Anyone who receives an invitation can ask us not to email them again using the link in the email.

Community profile data: if you create a Community profile, your photos, about-me text, intentions, and location (city and country) are stored and shown to other community members according to your reach setting. All photo metadata (including GPS and EXIF data) is automatically stripped on upload. Your photos are stored securely and served only to authenticated community members.

Community messages: private messages between community members are stored securely. Admins access message content only when investigating a report filed by a member.

Payout details: if you earn introduction commissions, we collect your full legal name, country, and Wise account email address to make payments. This information is shared with Wise (wise.com) solely to process your payouts.

How you found us: we record how visitors found AreteFortis (for example, an ad, a shared link or a search) to understand which channels work.

Technical information: basic information needed to run the site securely, such as browser type and IP address in our server logs.

3. How we use it

We use your information to:

  • create and run your account and membership;
  • release your monthly content and show your progress;
  • take payments and manage billing;
  • send you account emails and, if you have not turned them off, new-month emails;
  • answer support requests;
  • keep the service secure and prevent abuse;
  • understand, in aggregate, how the membership is used so we can improve it.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run AreteFortis, and only as needed:

  • Stripe — payments and billing
  • Resend — sending emails
  • Railway — hosting the site and database
  • Cloudflare — website delivery, security and file storage (including encrypted backups)
  • Chativa — the support chat assistant
  • YouTube — videos embedded in the member area are played from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode

We may also share information where required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

5. Cookies and storage

We use a single strictly necessary cookie (af_token) to keep you signed in. During admin impersonation, a second cookie (af_imp_admin) temporarily stores the admin session. We also store small preferences in your browser's localStorage (such as whether you have dismissed the welcome note or the install prompt, and your cookie consent choice). The service worker caches static files so the site loads faster and can work as an installable app.

Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use AreteFortis, for example which pages are most popular and how people find the site. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics only uses cookies if you choose to accept them when asked. If you are elsewhere, analytics cookies are set automatically. We do not use any advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Embedded YouTube videos use privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may store information in your browser when you play a video, under Google's privacy policy.

The Chativa support chat widget may store a session identifier in your browser to maintain conversation context.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, your personal information is removed. Payment and billing records are kept, as required for accounting and tax purposes under Hong Kong law. Backups are overwritten over time.

7. Your rights

You can:

  • view and update your name and email in Settings;
  • change your password;
  • turn new-month emails on or off in Settings or via the unsubscribe link;
  • delete your account permanently from Settings;
  • ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask any question about your data, by emailing hello@lifeengineeringhub.com.

If you received an invitation email from a member, you can opt out of future invitations using the link in that email.

8. Security

We protect your information using encrypted connections, secure password hashing, restricted access, and encrypted backups. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

9. Children

AreteFortis is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or on the site.
